HÔTEL DU JEU DE PAUME * * * *
Hotel in a former palm court with decorated rooms accessible by a hydraulic lift.
As soon as you enter the hotel, you are impressed by the extraordinary classified chestnut wood framework that overlooks the hall and the room that serves as a lounge, library, bar and breakfast room from a height of 17 metres. We are in an old 17th century palm game room, the only one still existing today in a Paris that had about 150 of them... The architect has managed to preserve the original structure of the premises while reinforcing and redeveloping it. The rooms are accessed by a hydraulic elevator, a kind of glass bubble that does not interfere with the atmosphere of the past, which coexists perfectly with the contemporary. The decoration blends wonderfully well past and present: antique furniture, Provençal tomettes, Doric columns, white walls, paintings by famous artists. Some rooms are even designed as artist's studios in duplexes with views of an indoor garden. Sublime.... The icing on the cake: the welcome is warm and the establishment on a human scale keeps a very family spirit. Natalie Heckel, the director, is accessible and is always happy to talk to clients.
