The Compagnons du devoir offer a different perspective on manual trades. The training, offered at the end of the9th grade, includes theoretical and practical training (alternating between work and school) leading to a CAP or BEP. At the end of the first year of apprenticeship, the candidate, between 16 and 21 years old, is adopted by his peers as an aspiring journeyman. Then begins the long road of the Tour de France. At the Île-de-France regional headquarters, 6 different courses are offered, from soft materials to industrial trades.
