Cycling to conquer the bridges and statues of Paris
You don't have any bike? Get yourself a Vélib' and here we go for a ride by the water to discover bridges and statues scattered along the Seine! The visit is free and covers an area of about 8 km. You get into the swing of things at the Île Saint-Louis level, with the statue of Pont de la Tournelle to start with. Partly submerged in 1910, it was rebuilt in the middle of 1920's by the architects Pierre and Louis Guidetti. Head now for the end of the Île de la Cité and the statue of Pont-Neuf: this work representing Henri IV was the first royal statue restored in the capital after the Revolution and the Empire. Thus, continue your historical and architectural discoveries by successively joining the Pont de Carrousel, the Pont Alexandre-III, the Pont des Invalides, the Alma Bridge, the Iéna, Bir-Hakeim and Grenelle bridges, all have prestigious sculptures. Make inquiries at the City Hall of Paris.
