BILLET CHURCH
Originally, the church of Les Billettes, with its cloister, was a Catholic building. The name "billets" comes from the primitive habit of the hospitable brothers of Charité Notre-Dame, which was decorated with heraldic figures in the shape of rectangles called billets. During the Revolution, the church and convent were ceded to private individuals, then returned to worship by Napoleon in 1808. Today, it is a Protestant church (Lutheran and Reformed communion) that hosts many early music concerts. The cloister regularly serves as an exhibition space for young artists.
