Built in the 1650 s by Louis Le Vau for Charles Gruyn of Des, this special hotel is one of the most beautiful mansions on the Saint-Louis island. He took a time to the family of Lauzun, hence his name. Two men of famous letters remained on these walls: Théophile Gautier and Charles Baudelaire, who gathered here his club des Hachichins. Today, this hotel is the property of the City of Paris, which organizes receptions and cultural events in lounges decorated with painted woodwork and gilt.
