The mission of this leading centre for European photography is to disseminate and preserve contemporary photography. The permanent collection covers the period from the late 1950s to the present day, and includes more than 15,000 works from international photographic production (Robert Frank, Raymond Depardon, Irving Penn, Henri Cartier-Bresson, etc.). It is complemented by numerous temporary exhibitions. The centre also houses an auditorium, a library and a video library.

Très bien situé (à quelques pas de la station de métro Saint-Paul), la MEP ferme tard le soir. On peut s'y rendre très facilement après le travail, d'autant plus qu'il y a des casiers pour y laisser ses affaires le temps de la visite. L'occasion parfaite pour se changer les idées !
