Farmer's hut in Paris offering Ethiopian cuisine, traditional and vegetarian dishes, Ethiopian tea.

In Ethiopia, godjo means «the farmer's hut, the smallest». We really appreciate the humility of Yonas, former cook of the Pre Catelan in Boulogne, and we love the place, often complete but noisy. On the menu, an excellent home cocktail with white rum and a large selection of typical recipes presented in large dishes to share. You eat with your fingers or rather with pieces of cake. For an initiation to Ethiopian cuisine, start with a yefesseg, a range of traditional dishes including beef stew, grilled meats, chicken, all in a white cheese. The ye tsom will make the case of vegetarians, vegetables with pickled spices. The Ethiopian tartar is spicy just right. Occasionally, we can attend the Ethiopian tea ceremony. The Godjo regularly exhibits paintings of Ethiopian painters. In the basement, a small room for six to eight people with sofas covered with skins and low tables. Sometimes fantasy reservation…

The food smelled amazing. The employees were lovely. But when I asked to have 1 1/2 dishes instead of 1 dish, the owner told me to leave his restaurant. He’s Ethiopian but he’s lived in Paris for 30 years. I’m sure his family back in Ethiopia no longer recognise his lack of hospitality and politeness.

Très bon restaurant. La salle est petite mais chaleureuse. La cuisine est très bonne et copieuse ! (Le beuf épicé est exceptionnel)
