MAHARAJAH
Restaurant with terrace offering Indian cuisine.
This restaurant was one of the first to offer Indian cuisine in Paris... The elegant decor is not excessively exotic and perfectly suits western taste even if you are surrounded by portraits of Maharajahs... The property has two rooms, a large one that can welcome a hundred guests and a smaller one with an intimate atmosphere, ideal for private events. The Indian music in the background will immediately set the mood. The terrace is very pleasant during summer. This family business run by Rajiv Akbaraly, who grew up there, has satisfied a loyal clientele for many years while having modernised the greeting and created an even more refined cuisine. We particularly liked one of the specialties of the house, the mixed maharajah which consists of fish, quail, chicken, lamb and vegetable fritter with a garlic naan. Moreover, the naans of the house are prepared in an original way: with candied fruits and spiced vegetables. As main course, vegetarians have more than one choice, but the potato and peas curry captured our full attention. As for the meat, the chicken with bone-in Madras curry was tasty. You still have room for dessert? We advice you to make a little effort and taste the pastry with syrup. Finally, Le Maharajah offers lassis but also a new selection of excellent teas...
