Restaurant offering French products revisited and Japaneseized.
Chief Hiroki Yoshitake has made his ranges with Alberto Herráiz at Fogón, William Ledeuil at Ze Kitchen Gallery, or Pascal Barbot at the Astrance. A room in double-bottom with a very zen and refined decoration. Then another in the basement where you settle in Japanese without shoes and tailor. So the temptation is to choose this option to dive in the bath completely. At lunchtime and in the evening, it is a unique menu that you can choose from small or large tasting and the number of dishes changes with the price. French products are reworked and japonisés, which provides sometimes unexpected mergers: Miso-fried fatty livers, noix nuts, Japanese basil, marshmallow to soy… Taste alliances are surprising in mouth, all products are treated in finesse and delicacy.

What a fantastic dining experience it was at Sola. The dinner is a 10 course meal of French-Japanese fusion cuisine. Every dish/course is a surprise (you’ll get to know about the menu at the end of the meal) and very flavorful. The amalgamation of Japanese and French cooking techniques & ingredients is really well done and is one of the most unique I’ve had this year.
Service is really good with the people at the restaurant being very kind and polite. The restaurant also catered to my allergies.
All in all this place is a must visit in my view if you’re in Paris for a vacation and are living close by.
There was effort and creativity put into every course of the menu.
Unfortunately the welcoming was rather underwhelming, my impression was that the staff was annoyed when we entered the establishment.
But as soon as we got seated the attitude changed completely and we were met with a great and enthusiastic service.
We really enjoyed our visit, but sadly when paying the bill you were automatically asked for a tip.
I really don’t mind tipping and would have done so anyway bc of the good service.
Being asked to tip is something I never encountered when visiting a fine dining restaurant and sadly doesn’t seem professional…
All in all it was a pleasant experience and I would greatly recommend the sola restaurant in Paris!
Merci a toute l équipe.
