Lebanese restaurant highlighting the richness and finesse of the region's gastronomy.

Loubnane is a family affair. In 1952, Rachid Youssef Makhoul opens Chez Rachid, in the Délices du Liban, the only Lebanese restaurant in France. His nephew, Kamal Nassif, followed his footsteps and in 1982, he opened in his turn a Lebanese restaurant, Loubnane. His son has just taken over the reins of this institution where the quality, the reception and the services have always been at the top. It is a beautiful setting with private rooms in the basement and a cuisine that highlights the richness and finesse of the Lebanese cuisine. As a starter, the mezze of course is essential to stimulate the appetite, but also a large selection of hot or cold oriental appetizers. As for meats, delicious shawarma lahmé, marinated strips of meat with herbs, skewer-grilled and a good choice of poultry. All the dishes are served with cereals or salads. Traditional desserts, or on order an osmalliyeh, a typical cake made with two layers of noodles worked in honey, cream made with milk, served with syrup and pistachios. Unforgettable. Finally, each day of the week has its main course. On Friday, for example, you are offered a siyadieh samak, a fillet of seabass with sauce, rice, herbs, pine nuts and onion.

Recently dined at Le Loubnane, a small cozy Lebanese restaurant near Notre Dame. It was a delightful experience. The mixed skewers and chicken skewers were flavorful and perfectly cooked. The highlight for me was the potato fried in garlic – absolutely delicious. The freshness of the salad complemented the meal well. Overall, a fantastic culinary journey that I would highly recommend.
