Seafood bar in Paris offering oyster dishes, shellfish, shellfish platters and soups à la carte.
A sea breeze blows over Boulevard Saint-Germain with this Bar à Iode, which aims to be "a bar of the sea at wine shop prices". Behind the concept are Valentine and Antoine, two lovers of the sea who created their temple five years ago, and have since expanded it throughout the capital. On Antoine's advice, we start by taking a look at the cellar, where all the regions are represented. Whites, of course, but also reds and rosés. Then we move on to the totally iodised menu: plates of oysters, shellfish, shellfish platters, soups...

Rien a dire de plus
It focuses on fresh seafood and scrumptious wine at a reasonable price (the wine should have been chilled before hand- ahem). A minor distraction from the wonderful food.
Certainly try the seasonal oysters - go to the bottom of the menu for delicious creamy oysters at just under €3 a piece. I also highly recommend the Rillet, which is done with fresh tuna. Yum. I was not crazy about the fried little fish, but everything else made up for it. Lovely staff as well who all spoke English.
Highly recommend this place if you like fresh seafood and good and reasonably priced wine. (No doubt next time it will be chilled).
