Flamboyant Gothic and Renaissance church in Paris
Construction of the church of Saint-Étienne-du-Mont, just behind the Panthéon, began in 1492 and was completed in 1622. Given this long time span, it's hardly surprising that the church displays features of both the flamboyant Gothic and Renaissance styles. Its monumental rood screen is unique in Paris. Also worth seeing are the stained glass windows and a fragment of the sarcophagus that contained the remains of Geneviève, patron saint of Paris.

I came here when there was a massive storm raging through Paris and the flood gates were opened! People were rushing into the church like it was the end of the world, it was funny but also very atmospheric at the same time, a real opportunity to be there. The church its self is stunning, it’s very dark inside but this all leads to the charm and the sparse candle light. Highly recommended.

Attended Sunday Mass. The church is beautiful especially the rear chapel dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The choir was excellent.
