A museum that traces the history of the police, housing evidence and archives relating to major trials.
Located in the Hôtel de Police in the 5th and 6th arrondissements, the Musée de la Préfecture de Police takes you to the heart of the history of the Paris police force, from the creation of the lieutenancy general under Louis XIV to the present day. Through exhibits, archive documents, photographs, equipment, and uniforms, you'll also discover the story of emblematic figures (Vidocq, Prefect Louis Lépine, Landru, Doctor Petiot...).

A police station atmosphere guaranteed as you pass through the police station to enter the museum. The museum is very complete, with archives, period costumes and period weapons. There is a section dedicated to forensic science.
It's a shame they don't have captions in English.
