LA RHUMERIE
Institution in Paris elaborating a menu brasserie, toasts, hot dishes and West Indian specialties.
A much older institution (1932!) than all the bottles on its card and it has not aged a bit. It is no longer given any age and yet it still seduces with its cocktails, arranged rums and old rums. A lunchtime brasserie menu features Poilâne bread sandwiches, salads, a few hot dishes and Caribbean specialities at more than reasonable prices. In the evening, the address is closer to a tapas bar, ideal to accompany the various drinks in the house. Always Creole of course: accras, sausage, pastels, crab on bread, plantain banana, french fries, it's tasty and exotic. Why pay for a plane ticket when you can travel for the price of a cup of tea?
