Restaurant offering dishes that change daily depending on the market and the mood of the chef.
Toyo Nakayama is the former personal chef of the designer Kenzo Takada. At the entrance, the painting signed by the designer attests to the close links between both men, but after seven years of good and loyal services, Toyo decided to stand on his own and settled in the 6th district, not far from Montparnasse. His inspirations are rather French-Japanese where his dishes are made with fish and seafood, and not forgetting some slices of high-quality beef. Just looking at the dishes, one understands why the designer became addicted: for snacks, smelt wriggling followed by half-cooked Scallops with their sublime soft radish or marinated turbot and shaved bottarga are available. For dessert, a bold crème brûlée and Ceylon tea with ginger infusion and kumquat confit leaves still leave one puzzled. The dishes change daily depending on the market and the chef's mood. A very thoughtful wine list displays several bottles of less than 20 € as well as vintage wines. The setting is simple, clear, and pleasantly decorated.
