Cosy and romantic Italian restaurant with an affordable menu.
Opened more than 40 years ago by Claudio Monteverdi, Venetian and descendant of the famous Italian composer, the restaurant of the same name is now held by Valérie Balard who has completely rethought it without removing its well-kept secret. The heart of Italy beats and resonates every evening against the thick walls of bare rough stone, the old library cleverly restored and the ceiling of exposed beams, to the jazzy rhythm of the musicians and the piano embedded in the central room. The romanticism and elegance of this cosy address even make it possible to offer a card at prices that are deliciously affordable for the neighbourhood. Start your trip with an aperitivo based on spritz or Bellini towards Piazza San Marco and then after having gained your appetite with antipasti (potato soup with artichokes and truffle oil, tuna tartare and rocket pesto, creamy burrata...), the serious things start with the Cornelian choice: paste or Milanese veal and osso buco? Where Chef Gian Marco Melone will make everyone agree is at dessert time with his chocolate praline sweet! A true delight for the eyes and taste buds. An address to test. A word of advice, come with friends!
