Created by a friend of Jean Cocteau, this restaurant with its cosy and warm atmosphere has always attracted personalities from all over the world. Specializing in bouillabaisses, fish of all kinds, oysters and seafood, La Méditerranée offers quality products of extreme freshness. Regular customers enjoy a cuisine that is well cooked and sometimes not lacking in originality. Beautiful wine list aligning beautiful houses. The view of the Odeon theater adds a bit of history to this address which is already full of it.

Sur la place de l'Odéon, dans un cadre historique (fréquenté notamment par Cocteau dont les œuvres décorent certains murs), ce restaurant propose des formules pour tous les budgets : la carte est un peu chère, mais il y a une formule entrée plat ou plat dessert à 31 €, ou bien entrée plat et dessert à 37 €.
La cuisine est excellente, les places sont raffinés.
Le restaurant est essentiellement fréquenté par des étrangers.

Bonne bouillabaisse. Excellent Chablis.
Mais aujourd'hui, un service lent. Beaucoup d'attente entre le plat et le dessert. Manque de personnel peut-être ?

Parlons du service, puisque la cuisine elle-même est quasiment irréprochable... (quoi que je n'avais pas le souvenir d'une carte des vins aussi réduite à l'essentiel...)
Accueil impeccable, service à table : beaucoup veulent bien faire, mais n'ont pas encore l'expérience, ou tout simplement la jugeotte, sommelier, chef de salle, chef de rang, maître d'hôtel, ces fonctions ont disparues de cet établissement ?
