A friendly, traditional Paris bistro serving family-style cuisine in a warm atmosphere.

Originally, and still, located on rue Lauriston (16th arrondissement), the company has duplicated itself on the Left Bank, on rue du Cherche-Midi, in place of Christian Etchebest's Cantine du Troquet. It advertises itself as a "traditional, friendly bistro" serving classic home cooking. And that's exactly what it is: checkered tablecloths, retro lighting and comforting dishes on the slate. For us that evening, it was fluffy mayo eggs and a slab of lean beef with an amazing cream of chanterelle mushrooms. Great! Warm atmosphere and relaxed service.

Bon tartare bien relevé, frites ok mais petite portion. Par contre, expérience mitigée de « profilage » : 12h30 salle aux trois quart vide, terrasse à moitié vide, je demande une place en terrasse, pas possible. 13h45 les 4 tables en terrasse sont toujours vides…tiens tiens, 4 réservations annulées?! C’est pas de chance ou bien je n’avais pas le bon look? Parce que le client de 13h, sans réservation, il a eu droit a la terrasse…il devait mieux convenir.

Nous avons apprécié la petite terrasse (à l'ombre quand il fait chaud, c'est parfait), les frites maison et le gratin de saumon. Le soufflé au chocolat est une tuerie et très généreux. Pause déjeuner très agréable.
