This German-Pratin institution is a bit of a time machine. Classified, its Art Nouveau decor is original and brilliantly restored. The varied menu offers a dish of the moment every day: seen one winter, skate wing, grilled pig's trotter and Angus beef flank steak to name but a few. But Vagenende has adapted to new customer tastes. If the calf's head with gribiche sauce is always a success, the arborio risotto with mushrooms is appreciated. As for desserts, rum baba, chocolate mi-cuit, poached pear with spices... In short, a sure value!

The water glass was dirty, so I asked for a replacement. Bottle of water is not free, price is 8 EUR
