L'HOTEL * * * *
Hotel with a terrace around a fountain, rooms around a spiral staircase, restaurant, and bar.
This hotel is a discreet haven and a historic site. The venue hosted many celebrities and was the theatre of extraordinary scenes, from the secret lovers of Queen Margot to the death of Oscar Wilde, who disappeared leaving a huge debt and a famous phrase: "I am dying beyond my means". Since then, Annie Leibovitz, Monica Bellucci, Sean Penn, Johnny Depp and many others have lived in this hotel. Jacques Garcia decorated it like an impressive mansion, enriched it over the generations with furniture brought from distant journeys. Each of the 20 rooms, built around a spiral staircase crowned by a magnificent skylight, has its universe, inherited from a prominent guest: Art Deco (Mistinguett room, 36), Gothic (Viollet-le-Duc room, 32), Far East (Marco Polo room, 26), boudoir (Queen Hortense room, 54), Ottoman (Loti suite, 40), etc... The hotel itself is a unique decorative experience. "Le Restaurant" with a private lounge atmosphere and a bar is open daily until 1 am in the morning.
