KO GA KU KAN JUDO
The place is synonymous with tradition… 17 years ago Jean-Luc Barré, now black belt 6 th dan, makes trips to the country of the rising sun to upgrade to the greatest masters. This Japanese culture enthusiast even laid his bags for three years to prepare the foreigners championships in Japan, a competition he completed 3rd and better French. As a result, its club, founded in April 2000, a few steps from the Latin Quarter and its 265 members, takes advantage of all its experience gained during meetings and years. The method taught is that devised by judo founder Jigoro Kano, which is the Kodokan judo of the traditional school in Tokyo. The courses take place in five different locations at the Vaugirard Gymnasium (6 th), the Garancière Gymnasium (6 th), the Guilleminot Gymnasium (14 th), the André Malraux Centre (6 th) and the Sainte-Marie School (6 th). These courses last 1 hour 30. All aspects of judo are worked out without forgetting the philosophy of this martial art, which differentiates it from many other clubs in the capital. For this purpose, 10-day internships in Japan and Thailand are regularly organized, still a feature that makes this club unique in Paris.
