The line of the Paris Refuge comes in response to a social problem. It is aimed at young people in distress and in questioning their sexual orientation, seeking identity and sometimes family breaks following a complex «coming out». The Refuge is the only device in France, sanctioned by the State, to offer temporary accommodation and social and psychological support to young people, boys and girls, victims of homophobia and in family deerupture situations. The association, which manages a 12-seat reception facility in relais houses, faces more than 300 applications per year. Young people with disabilities are suffering from a malaise and suffer from the loss of their own image: risk taken, suicidal thoughts, dependencies, scarifications are all concrétisations of this evil. The lack of awareness and public support is all the more alarming because homosexual young people have a suicide rate of 13 times higher than their heterosexual peers. 2 accommodation devices are now operational: the home of Montpellier and accommodation in hotel structures, in Ile-de-France. A correspondent of the Paris Refuge, trained listening, will take into account the young person's request. An evaluation interview on Paris will be proposed to a general practitioner (STI balance sheet, HIV, HCV, etc.) and/or guidance to a psychologist or psychiatrist (evaluation and psychological guidance).
