THE FIRST REINFORCED CONCRETE BUILDING IN PARIS
At the end of the th century, and stemming directly from the industrial revolution, new innovations in the field of construction were emerging, including the armed concrete. François Hennebique is part of these precursors who did not hesitate to demonstrate by practice all the qualities of their discoveries. He thus began construction of the city's first reinforced concrete building, proving that it was possible with this material reproducing mouldings, decorative elements and sculptures as well as stone. In a style that heralds the advent of Art Deco, Hennebique carries out an elegant and functional housing and office building at a cost much lower than that of the stone. This achievement will be a real advertising poster for him and will make him the sole industrial concrete construction industry until the early years of the th century.

Par contre sa faible épaisseur permet de le distinguer des autres belles constructions de la rue. Sa rénovation récente est réussie.
