WALLACE FOUNTAINS
Public fountains in Paris, all made of cast iron and covered in dark green.
These public fountains owe their name to British philanthropist Richard Wallace, who designed them and offered them to Parisians in the 1870s. It was the sculptor Charles-Auguste Lebourg who finalized their appearance. Some 2.70 meters high, they feature four caryatids, but if you pay close attention, you'll see that they're not all identical. There is, however, one immutable detail: they are all made of cast iron. In all, there are almost 110 of them in the streets of the capital, the last two having been installed in 2022.
