LA PLACE SAINT-ANDRÉ-DES-ARTS
A charming square in the lively Saint-Michel district, home to the Monnaie de Paris and its museum.
This square is located in the lively Saint-Michel district. It extends the square at the crossroads of rue Francisque-Gay, rue Suger, rue Hautefeuille, rue Danton and rue Saint-André-des-Arts. This area is also known as the "quartier de la Monnaie", as it is home to the Monnaie de Paris and its museum. The square occupies the site of the former Saint-André-des-Arts church, sold in 1797, demolished in the early 19th century and where, anecdotally, Voltaire was baptized.
