Parisian bistro with a traditional decor, a renewed slate and a good quality-price ratio.

Nestled between rue de Babylone and boulevard Raspail, this traditionally decorated Parisian bistro is the den of Jean-Baptiste Gay who offers a daily renewed slate menu consisting of 7 starters, 7 main courses and 7 desserts. The cuisine of this pastry chef who made his first kitchen classes alongside starred chefs, is bistronomic, that is to say a traditional and rustic but revisited and, above all, modernised cuisine. For example, as a starter, we think of piquillo with fresh goat cheese and basil and, as a main course, beef chuck and its candied carrots with orange and cumin. At the end of the meal, the chocolate cake, vanilla ice-cream or the pan-fried raspberry, pistachio ice-cream will not ruin your pleasure, it is quite the contrary. Very good value for money for the district.

Nous avons été servi plus d'une heure après avoir commandé alors que le restaurant était presque vide, le personnel est désagréable.
Les prix sont indécents pourla qualité de la nourriture ! À fuir !

A really nice French family-run restaurant! The main dishes we got were really good, especially the lamb. The menu changes once in a while too. I would say I was absolutely AMAZED by the baked mashed lentil/potato I had!!

The downside is that it takes a long time for food to be served. The place is pretty small so the seats are limited. The price is also pretty high (about 40 euros per person). However, at least the service of the staff are good, and they apologized for being slow.

Overall, still would recommend the place if you aren’t in a rush and are down to try some home cook French food.
