Notaries in France are gathered in several organizations: 80 departmental rooms, 24 regional councils with regional competence, as their name indicates, and finally the Higher Council of notarial national competence. The Higher Council of the Notarial, a public utility institution, is the only organ of the profession empowered to speak on behalf of notaries in France: he is the representative of the profession with the public authorities, develops general policy and contributes to his development, providing notaries with collective services. As a partner of the public authorities, he participates in changes in law, giving his opinion on draft laws or statutory texts. The Higher Council of Notarial has created the Notarial site. fr so that the public can find the first answers to the questions that are likely to arise in the notarial field, subject to continuing with the support of a particular notary who will bring his or her lights.
