Created in June 2010 by Yves Jégo and Antoine Veil, it is the only universal certification that certifies it in France. It is a cross-cutting and independent label that is expected by both producers and consumers. The Origin France Guarantee certification guarantees the consumer the traceability of a product by giving an indication of clear and objective provenance. Consumers can find it on a food product, a vehicle or a textile article. The label is also an asset for companies that value their production and know-how based on reliable and demanding criteria.
But be careful, is not labeled that wants! Obtaining the Origin France Guarantee label is subject to an audit conducted by an independent certifying body: Afnor, Office Veritas Certification, Cerib, FCBA, SGS,…
Two criteria must be met: at least 50% of the unit price (i. e. the output price of factory, workshop or operating) is French and the product takes its essential characteristics in France.
The label differs from Made in France, a reference merely declarative, because it relies on a rigorous specification, a guarantee of confidence and quality for consumers.
Since 2011, the promotion of the Origin France Guarantee label is ensured by an association of entrepreneurs who have no profit for profit and does not receive any public subsidies. Today more than 600 companies have undertaken certification and over 2 000 product lines are labeled.
