Secours Catholique was founded in Lourdes in 1946. Today, this association federates a network of tens of thousands of volunteers around 76 delegations, 2,400 welcome centers and 3,700 local teams. Its aim: to combat poverty, inequality and exclusion. It calls on public opinion and public authorities, while proposing long-term solutions. It also trains young volunteers, especially in France, for a minimum of 9 months, giving them the status of National Civilian Volunteer.
