L'HÔTEL MATIGNON
Also called hotel de Matignon is the official residence of the Prime Minister, head of the government of the French Republic. Owned by the State since 1922, he previously belonged to several aristocrats. Its construction dates back to 1722 when Christian-Louis of Montmorency-Luxembourg commanded the construction of the architect Jean Courtonne. It was acquired in the course of work by Jacques Goyon-Matignon, who entrusted the site to Antoine Mazin. Among the famous inhabitants of this elegant little palace, which has a park, were Talleyrand and members of the family of Orléans.
