PLOWED CATHERINE GARDEN
Garden with a surprising vegetable garden, located near the Chapel of the Miraculous Medal, paying tribute to Catherine Labouré
Located in the garden of the convent of the Daughters of Charity, this pretty garden, which also hosts a shared vegetable garden, is full of surprises. Its name pays tribute to Catherine Labouré, a young Burgundian woman who saw the Virgin Mary several times in 1830 on the very spot where the chapel known as the Miraculous Medal was built at 140 rue du Bac. On either side of the altar are the embalmed bodies in glass coffins of the founder of the convent Louise de Marillac and Catherine Labouré.
