Beware of the name! Because this café strips away the uses... Born in 2010 from the passion of a young French roaster - voted best in its category a year later - and an Australian barista, the place brings together: cooking of the grains, bulk sales point (about ten vintages and blends are available for sale), on-site tasting with professional baristas (gourmet plates à la carte too) and importation of Dutch Van Der Esten or American Synesso coffee machines, Italian Anfim grinders and other products from Chemex, Hario, Torch etc. Nota bene: on Saturdays and Sundays, from 11am to 4pm, there is a culinary discovery of coffee-producing countries!
A second Parisian address exists at 60, rue des Écoles, within the Finnish Institute and where, for the occasion, the café was renamed Coutume Instituutti (closed on Sundays and Mondays). The most experienced readers can even go to Tokyo or Osaka: Café Coutume has three brands!
