JEAN PATOU
It is one of the great names of high perfumery. Jean Patou (1887-1936) created his first three perfumes in 1925: Love Love for the Brunes, What do I know for! and Goodbye Wisdom for rousses! But his greatest success remains Joy (1930), then known as the world's most expensive perfume. Among his clients, Vivien Leigh, alias Scarlett O'Hara, who liked to leave behind her precious smell… Jean Patou cultivates the largest fields of roses and jasmine around Grasse and the house is the largest importer of natural scents in the world. At the beginning of 2014, to celebrate Jean Patou's 100 years, the mother house decided to return to the original address, rue Saint-Florentine, just steps from Place Vendôme. The decoration, which is transparent and inspired by the Art Deco, enhances the aesthetic scents with subtle light games. On the occasion of the centenary of the House, Jean Patou's first three perfumes were re-published.
