Literary hotel combining the art of writing and decoration where in each room hides the soul of a poet or writer.

After Pavillon de la Reine in the Marais, Jerome Chevalier opens Le Pavillon des Lettres. A concept born from his imagination and that of a talented decorator, Didier Benderli. The idea was to combine the art of writing and the aesthetics of design so as to pay homage to the hidden talents of French literature but also international. We knew about the boutique hotels but not literary hotels. This is the first of its kind, a few steps from the Élysée. The facade and the staircase are classified as historical monuments. 26 letters of the alphabet so 26 rooms and suites that reveal the beauty and poetry of different authors: Andersen, Baudelaire, Calderon, Diderot, Eschyle, Flaubert, Goethe, Hugo, Ibsen, James, Kafka, La Fontaine, Musset, Nerval, Ovide, Proust, Queiroz, Rousseau, Shakespeare, Tolstoi, Urfe, Voltaire, Woolf, Xenophon, Yeats, Zola. Behind each door lies the soul of a poet, a writer, someone passionate, who gives a special atmosphere to the room, with carefully selected pieces and prints on the walls. The texts are sometimes subtle, sometimes tender, and sometimes poetic. They all invite us to meditation and contemplation. The décor of the rooms are quite nude and all the beech furniture are refined. Eight variations of colour combine shades of copper, fire, cognac ... And there is a fireplace in the living room. So cosy!

In addition to being a first class hotel, the staff at the concierge are wonderful. They were efficient and super friendly.

It has taken us far, far too long to write this review. We stayed at the Le Pavillon Des Lettres for one week in May 2023 for our elopement wedding, so needless to say our expectations (and hopes) were sky high. We had heard and read so much about Le Pavillon Des Lettres that we were incredibly excited for our visit.

But the quaint, charming, cozy atmosphere of the classy boutique hotel coupled with the beyond friendly and helpful staff exceeded all of our expectations.

Although we had visited Paris previously, planning an elopement in Paris from Canada is not an easy task. You want to foresee every possibility and make sure everything is as perfect as possible. I (the groom) called the hotel staff so many times to ask questions I thought they would hate me by the end, but each time they were so warm, friendly and did everything they could to assist. From emailing photos of different rooms in the hotel, to restaurant recommendations and reservations, calling restaurants on our behalf, and even though I fool myself that I have some sort of French skills, everyone on the staff were more than happy to converse in English.

The excellent level of service continued when we were actually at the hotel, the staff maintain professionalism but also make you feel like part of the family. So much so I'd like to name and thank them all for their hard work: Lou, Leo, Jessa, Noemie...thank you all so, so much! And if you're looking for the best restaurant recommendations in the city...Leo is the guy to know ;).

As for the hotel, again, you can expect the quaint, cozy and charming elegance of a top-level boutique hotel. The bathrooms are IMMACULATE, sparkling clean with remarkable and luxurious silver tile. Wonderful soaker tubs and beautiful showers. The beds and bedding are fluffy, elegant and incredibly comfortable. All the amenities are at your fingertips, and if you're in need of anything...that friendly hotel staff I rave about is always there. The large French windows in every room make it feel bright and airy. And...did I mention the bathrooms?!

We stayed in one of the deluxe rooms with a lovely rooftop terrace overlooking the Eiffel Tower, but I had the opportunity to have a peek at some of the other rooms and even without an Eiffel view, every room is wonderful.

Location is walking-distance perfect to just about anywhere you want to go. So with all of that I'm sure its redundant for me to say we highly recommend Le Pavillon Des Lettres and are counting the minutes until the next time we visit.

Thank you again to all of the staff for making our wedding in Paris the dream we imagined it could be.

Unfortunately one of the more unenjoyable hotel experiences I’ve had in a while. We booked through booking and arrived late after midnight to the property, but they oversold the hotel so they made us change rooms the next day. No apology or compensation for this logistical error. That night in our first room I found a long black hair and a used bandage, yes a bandage, in the bed

At 8am, the worst construction I’ve ever heard in my entire life started on the street. The building was literally shaking and it sounded like a 747 jet engine was next to the window. I had to put toilet paper in my ears. No heads up from staff or an apology from management.

At 11:30am one of the receptionists calls with a rude tone asking when I will be vacating the room as checkout is at 12pm and on 4 hours of sleep I curtly tell her I need 10 minutes to take a shower and I will come down for the key but she hangs up the phone while I’m in the middle of a sentence.

3 minutes later while I’m starting to get angry and literally wet in the shower another receptionist comes up knocking on my door with the new key asking for my bags. At this point, I’m red hot and angrily tell them off about the service so far at the hotel

During the rest of the stay in our 2nd room, the shower kept flooding and overflowing into the rest of the bathroom. Construction continued including random hammering throughout the day, the fire alarm randomly went off one morning, and one of the late night staff met us at night without shoes on

I will say the two girls who checked us out the morning we left (didn’t see them before that moment) provided excellent service, unfortunately didn’t get their names but they’re too good for the place

Everything was up to satisfaction. The room's small but it was everything you could need and it's very comfortable. It's also very cute. Location is unbeatable.
The concierge and everyone else working here are very warm and helpful.
