GIVENCHY
Hubert de Givenchy was the first to launch a loan-to-wear line that combines with femininity and relaxation. Success, both in France and internationally, was not expected. The great meeting in 1953 between the designer and Audrey Hepburn gave wings to the griffe. Givenchy dressed this delicious actress on all his shoots. In 1988, LVMH bought the house. Seven years later, Givenchy left the ship after more than forty years of good and loyal services. He follows: John Galliano, Alexander McQueen and Julien McDonald. But it was Riccardo Tisci in 2005 who really succeeded in restoring new momentum to the house. Distinguishing signs: a sense of detail confirmed and a palette of refined colours. Among the many temptations displayed in this majestic boutique, coins adorned with giant pastilles, a black dress to wear on a body in sailing, a tunicate skirt revisited or still the pouch bag to hang in the belt… Dear for the ready-to-wear, perhaps but without a common measure with the haute couture! So good quality/price/griffe ratio.
