The autonomous old-age insurance organisation for the liberal professions comprises a national fund (CNAVPL) and ten autonomous professional sections which, for the latter, are responsible for collecting contributions and providing benefits under the basic scheme for notaries, ministerial officers, doctors, surgeons, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, physiotherapists, speech therapists, veterinary surgeons, general insurance agents, chartered accountants, architects, etc. Lawyers are covered by the Caisse nationale des Barreaux de France (CNBF).
