CENTRE TOMATIS DE PARIS
The Tomatis method was created by Alfred Tomatis, French physician, Ear-Nose-Laryngologiste and Phoniatre (1920-2001). This method is aimed at people, whether they are children or adults, with various voice, listening, learning or communication problems such as attention deficit, learning delays, autism, dyslexia, motor and language problems and difficulties in learning foreign languages. With the Tomatis method, all this is treated. Indeed, this method is based on the "re-education of listening" because the quality of the hearing would have a decisive influence on voice, attention, and development of language and various learning faculties. Alfred Tomatis established and clarified the relationship between ear and voice and, by extension, between listening and communication. He formulated the 3 "Tomatis laws", enunciated the "Tomatis effect" principle and implemented the application of this Tomatis effect by designing a material called "Electronic Ear", which allows training of the human ear. We go through successive stages at the Tomatis Centre in Paris:
The balance sheet: preparation of an audio-psycho-phonological balance sheet to establish a state of the site and build an appropriate approach to the subject.
Listening sessions in electronic ear: they allow the ear to best use its potential, and to aim, analyze, discriminate and control sounds. The parameters analyzed using the initial balance sheet will determine the electronic ear settings by which the subject will listen to music or its own voice or instrument. The electronic Ear, by modifying certain parameters of sound and listening, alternating tension and relaxation by the middle ear muscles, performs a training of the ear.
Vocal technique: it aims to consolidate the effects of the electronic Ear.
