Museum housing a rich collection of Chinese and Japanese art dating mainly from Antiquity to the century
Opened in 1898, the Musée Cernuschi is housed in a private mansion on the edge of the Parc Monceau. It houses a collection of Chinese and Japanese art dating mainly from Antiquity to the 14th century: bronzes, funerary statuettes, ceramics... It is named after Henri Cernuschi, an Italian Republican who bequeathed the collections he brought back from his travels to the City of Paris, as well as his home. While access to the permanent collections is free, temporary exhibitions (on modern Vietnamese art on our last visit) are not.
