A palace of discovery featuring permanent and temporary exhibitions that explain modern science in an entertaining way.

Just a few more months to wait: on June 6, 2025, after years of major renovation work, the Palais de la Découverte will open its doors to the public: new, never-before-seen areas - including one for children aged 2 to 10 - mediation spaces and, in 2026, a new planetarium will be the highlights of this totally redesigned venue, with its unique museography and decades of popularity. Indeed, since 1937 and the International Exhibition, the Palais de la découverte has welcomed visitors curious to better understand the world around us in the west wing of the Grand Palais. Permanent and temporary exhibitions explain the challenges of modern science in an entertaining way. Mathematics, geophysics, biology, astronomy and chemistry are presented in turn through workshops and demonstrations led by experienced scientists and students. The highlight of the visit is the planetarium, where you can explore the known and unknown universe. Please note that the planetarium can only be visited at certain times, and is forbidden to children under 6. Check the website for opening times. Before its closure, the Palais de la Découverte had even set up a partnership with the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie to share their resources, much to the delight of the public: 600,000 visitors a year were welcomed.

On recommande fortement !

Great for kids and adults! It is a fun place, where you will learn having fun. Everything is interactive. Go for the festival of science, it is free.
I love this museum and each exhibitions which are offered. They are brilliant, as soon as I have the opportunity I get there it is my favourite Paris then I recommend it widely!
