L'OPÉRA RESTAURANT
Restaurant with terrace in Paris elaborating a menu of fish and exotic fruits, various desserts.
Designed by Odile Decq, the decoration of this restaurant, in red and black, is amazing, with a mezzanine and glass mat in wave and self-supporting shapes that occupy the height of the space and turn around the existing pillars without touching them, on a surface area of more than 700 m². The terrace of L'Opéra Restaurant is the largest in Paris with its 1500 m². The menu, designed by a Japanese chef Chihiro Yamazaki, comes in three acts where influences from another world are well presented. In act I, the scene recommended by the waiter was the sashimi of sea-bream, exotic-fruit tartar and passion-fruit coulis. Explosion of colours and flavours. In act II, scallops, braised endives, shimeji (Japanese mushroom), emulsion vanilla and watercress biscuit deserve an ovation. Finally, in act III, the dish of red fruits, almond biscuit, very classic in appearance, is well served and the fruits are of excellent quality. No need for sugar to raise any bitterness. But act III without chocolate cannot exist and the all-chocolate macaroon, black chocolate chips and pistachios, play their part of tenor well. It should be noted that some dishes, especially the dessert "Opéra", are made with honey collected on the roofs of Opéra Garnier which is, it seems, the most expensive in the world... Finally, daily press (Le Parisien, L'Equipe, etc.) and some weekly newspapers like Elle, Paris Match, Citizen K, etc. are offered to guests. Opéra Restaurant also offers artists the opportunity to temporarily exhibit their works.

For the rest, total disappointment: Cold mezzanine, no atmosphere, especially when there are not many people, which was the case.
Very disappointing dish: cushion veal lasts like wood, puree nondescript; the entire precooked and straight out of the microwave;
€31, absolute shame. It would be although 2 star chef comes to his nose kitchens and overlooks the crestfallen head.
Wines too much expensive: pink Slopes Aix (Château de Fonscolombe at €29, it is not reasonable.
To re-examine basic in roof.
des assiettes super jolies et c'est délicieux. J'avais l'impression d'avoir un tableau dans mon assiette : de l'art quoi ! ( J'ai fait des photos avec mon iPhone pour immortaliser :-) )
