Hotel in New Athens with an intimate atmosphere, exotic and so british side equipped with colorful rooms.

In the heart of New Athens, the R. Kipling Hotel is ideal for travellers seeking an intimate and dépaysante atmosphere with its colonial touch and so-called British side. From the lobby to the lobby, rooms in the breakfast room are reminiscent of a beautiful bourgeois house where you can find yourself at home or in friends thanks to the memories that seem to have been gathered from the journeys of the eponymous writer known for his love of Asia. The rooms have harmonies of contrasting colours: China blue and violine, green celadon and taupe. On the walls, head head of the bed, Damascus-inspired wallpaper of Cordoba, curtains rather japonisants dress the windows. Furniture is an Asian connotation and style is colonial. The lobby has a large library, Chesterfield sofas and club chairs with skated leather. The breakfast room with its stone arch is located in the basement. The benches have Kashmir grounds, the colonial chairs are leather, and the facette suspensions make a very chic note.

Our favorite hotel in Paris and it never fails to impress! We love it, the staff, the location and our favorite room, which we book every visit !

This hotel was very rude to me on the phone and wouldnt refund or even partial refund a room when I cancelled it with 5 months notice in a time they will have no issue getting the room rebooked (July). I had a medical emergency and they didn't care. The only option when booking was nonrefundable. Do not book with them beware. They are uncaring and unkind and only care about money.

The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and you're in a great location. About a 10-20 minute walk up to Montmartre and the Sacré-Cœur, 20-30 minute walk to the "Heart of Paris" (1st and 2nd arrondissement) and close to a few metro stations. Our room was tiny though, almost comically so. There was no where to sit besides the beds, and I challenge you to get a suitcase past them. The showerhead was also not great (water went everywhere except down), but none of this was a big issue given that we were only staying one night. If you're planning on staying longer, book a larger room. We didn't have breakfast, so I can't comment on that, but there are plenty of cafés and bakeries around on your way to Montmartre, so I'd recommend eating there! All in all a pleasant, if somewhat quirky, experience at the R. Kipling Hotel.
