DANSE COMPAGNIE NUBA
Very original. Japanese dances are not yet widely practiced in France, but they are imbued with great beauty. Juju Alishina, Japanese choreographer and dancer trained in traditional Japanese dance and Butô, has been perfecting her practice in this discipline for more than twenty years. Passionate about her art, she will make you discover it with the same passion. The practice of Butô does not require any particular physical condition. It is possible to start at any age. The origin of the word Butô (from Bu: dance and To: to tread the ground) is very old, ritual (Shintoîste) as well as popular: it allows to communicate with the earth, darkness, calling upon the forces of the afterlife, the soul of the ancestors taking possession of the actors' bodies. Tatsuli Hijikata, Kazu Ohno, founders of Buto in the 1960s, drew on this tradition, while being inspired by European thinkers such as Genet, Bataille or Artaud. This dance connects Death to Life, constantly oscillating from Nothing to Life and from Life to Nothing, metamorphosis transcribed by the extreme slowness of the movements and a total stripping of the Formal to reach the Deep Being. The courses will encourage you to actively participate, think, imagine and create. Wonderful anti-stress, butô is a physical and cerebral discipline, between martial art and contemporary dance.
