The Palais Garnier, one of the major works of the Haussmann era, is a temple to lyrical art and classical dance, inaugurated in 1875. It is admired as much for its programs as for its architecture: the grand staircase, the foyers housing sculptures and paintings, the grand hall with its legendary 8-ton crystal chandelier and the ceiling painted by Chagall. As for the museum, it recounts the three centuries of history of this prestigious monument. Simply fabulous!

Closed on January 1, May 1 and certain performance days. Open daily from 10am to 4pm. Free admission for children under 11. Adults: €15 (concessions: €10). Show bookings online, at the Palais Garnier box office (Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. and one hour before performances) and at the Opéra Bastille (Tuesday to Saturday, 2.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. and one hour before performances). Dommage qu'il y est toujours énormément de monde, et à certains moments la scène et les balcons sont fermés à la visite et le prix est le même.
