The Palais Garnier, one of the highlights of the Haussmann era, is a temple to lyrical art and classical dance, inaugurated in 1875. It is admired as much for its programmes as for its architecture, including the grand staircase, its foyers housing sculptures and paintings, its great hall with its legendary 8-ton crystal chandelier and its ceiling painted by Chagall. As for its museum, it recounts the three centuries of history of this prestigious monument. Simply fabulous!

Closed on January 1, May 1 and performance days. Open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (last visit at 4:30 p.m.). Shows from September to July. Reservations at the Palais Garnier and Opéra Bastille box offices Monday to Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and one hour before each performance. Free for children under 11. Adults: €14. Reduced admission €10. Guided tour. Restaurant. Store.
