ST. MARTIN'S PRIORY

A priory in Blandy, including a chapel, cemetery, tithe barn, farm and extensive gardens.
Founded in the 11th century, the priory of Blandy depended on the abbey of Saint-Martin-des-Champs in Paris. It was a rather rich establishment which possessed woods and lands and enjoyed a rather important surface since it included a chapel, a cemetery, a tithe barn, a farm and large gardens. Sold in the 18th century, it had several owners. During the Revolution, it was sold by the State, and its buildings, very damaged, were transformed or destroyed. On the spot, no plaque informs the walker. It is then necessary to play a treasure hunt.
