HÔTEL-DIEU
Brie-Comte-Robert's Hôtel-Dieu on rue des Halles was built in the 13th century to accommodate poor or less fortunate travelers.
It's quite an encounter when you arrive at no. 6 rue des Halles! A Gothic facade with six ribbed arches and an attractive doorway awaits you, bearing witness to the reception room of a Hôtel-Dieu built in the 13th century by Robert II de Dreux. Since the end of 1995, the Hôtel-Dieu has been used as a temporary cultural exhibition hall, although it still retains traces of its past, notably the two tombstones discovered during construction work and placed at its entrance.
