STONE HOUSE
A house dedicated to the history of Château-Landon stone
If you're a lover of old stones, you'll find the entire history of Château-Landon here. From the formation of its highly compact lacustrine limestone some 25 to 30 million years ago, to the cutting of its highly water-resistant stone, used for the construction of bridges and other prestigious Parisian monuments: Arc de Triomphe, Sacré-Cœur, Pont Alexandre III... The rooms retrace 6,500 years of technical evolution, thanks to a fine collection of tools, notably from prehistoric times.
