EDGES OF MARL AND THE CANAL OF SCALES
The banks of the Marne and the Canal de Chelles, with a pedestrian circuit that allows you to see the location of the old guinguettes
In the past, they were used for boating activities and guinguettes. The canal, linking Vaires-sur-Marne to Neuilly-sur-Marne, was put into service in 1865 to become the scene of barge operations. A pedestrian circuit starting from the Auguste-Prévost quay to the avenue des Iles-Mortes allows you to see the location of the old guinguettes, the marker of the Marne's flood level in 1910, the ruins of a mill destroyed in the 19th century, the Iles-Mortes, the floating footbridge.
