LOUIS-BRAILLE MUSEUM
A museum retracing the life of Louis Braille, located in the house where he was born, classified as a historic monument, to be visited in Coupvray.
Louis Braille's house, classified as a historic monument, was transformed into a museum in 1956, and is now managed by the World Blind Organization, the Comité Français Louis Braille and the municipality of Coupvray. The museum retraces the life of Louis Braille, born in Coupvray in 1809. Having lost his sight at the age of five, he pursued brilliant studies before developing his world-famous six-point writing system. The tour is enriched by the Garden of the Five Senses... where all the senses are called upon. What a marvel!
