HOUSSOY DUNGEON
Castle built in the 14th century whose square keep became fashionable and other constructions of the same type were built
In the 14th century, Lord Robert de Sepoix had a château built on the foundations of an 11th-century fortified house. The fire of 1652, during the Fronde, left only this tower and the chimneys hanging on the west wall. Built on 7 levels, the keep has stood the test of time. Inside, 5 rooms and an 87-step spiral staircase. Restored in 2021 after several years' work, the keep is only open on Heritage Days. At the foot of the monument, small squares of medieval garden, with aromatic and medicinal plants.
